NFL road dogs have been on fire so far today
Carolina, Cleveland, Oakland and Tennessee all went on the road as underdogs this week and won on what is shaping up as a rough week for home teams.
Of the nine games completed so far this week, the only home team to win was the New York Giants in a 24-3 victory against Washington.
Philadelphia started the run of road wins on Thursday night at Green Bay and the trend continued through the early games Sunday.
The Panthers won 16-10 at Houston, the Browns won 40-25 at Baltimore, the Raiders won 31-24 at Indianapolis and the Titans won 24-10 at Atlanta.
The road favorites also got into the act with the Chargers winning 30-10 at Miami, New England holding off Buffalo 16-10 and Kansas City rallying past Detroit 34-30.
Since the merger in 1970, the fewest home wins in any week was two on the opening weekend in 1983 when Kansas City and New Orleans were the only home winners.
